Sex Offender vs Slugger Update...

I debated whether this really was enough to require it's on post rather than an update to the original... I believe it is.

I mentioned the sex offender welcoming party given recently to William A. Baldwin, and now an updated version of the case offers a little more insight:

The 7-foot-3 man was beaten so badly, medics transported him to a hospital.

"I kept swingin' and swingin' and swingin," court documents say Tammy Gibson told police, who arrested her in Cottonwood Mobile Home Park.

Gibson has been charged with second-degree assault and felony harassment.

Gibson went to the home where the man, William Baldwin, is living, knocked on the door and asked for him. Then she accused him of molesting her children and beat him with the bat, according to court documents.

The woman now denies that Baldwin molested her children, although I imagine that someone might be looking into that a little closer. Regardless, now both are in jail- which is likely the best place for Baldwin to be to begin with.

The fliers detailed his conviction for first-degree child molestation in 1998. According to police, Baldwin was on parole for forcing his 5-year-old neighbor to touch him sexually when he lured another 5-year-old into a backyard doghouse, where he sexually assaulted her.

He is considered a high risk to re-offend.

(I hear that country western song that continuously repeats the line 'just a swingin' running through my head now... )

Sex Offender Meets Slugger

Police say that shortly after they distributed warning fliers to a neighborhood indicating that a sex offender had moved into the area, a resident took it upon her self to hold a welcoming party.

With a bat in hand, and William A. Baldwin as a pinata; the woman went on attack leaving the over seven foot tall Baldwin with a broken arm which required him to be treated (and released) from an area hospital. No report is available on whether she believed he was filled with candy, or not.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and second-degree felony harassment. The offender, William A. Baldwin, was injured in the attack Monday night, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. He was initially treated at a hospital and then released. He was booked into Pierce County Jail this morning on suspicion of failure to register as a sex offender.

While the police did hand out the fliers, they have indicated that they do not condone acts of vigilante justice, or in this case sex offender pinata.

Baldwin was convicted in 1999 in Pierce County of first-degree child molestation after he sexually assaulted two 5-year-old girls who were his neighbors. He had participated in the sex offender treatment program while in jail.

On a small side note, I have to wonder about the 'failure to register' arrest of Baldwin, and the fact that evidently somehow police actually did know his new whereabouts- since they released the fliers informing residents of his presence. But- no fear, I'm not worried enough to lose sleep over it.

US Marshals arrest rapist

A New York state sexual offender has been arrested after LE said he provided false documents on his living arrangements and left the state to live with family members in Tennessee.

Lawrence E. Hann, 35, formerly of 117 Janet St., was arrested Thursday in Tennessee, by the United States Marshals Service after an investigation initiated by the Auburn Police Department's Sex Offender Management Unit.

[...]

Auburn police said Hann falsified a change of address form in January and subsequently moved to Tennessee to live with family members. Police said he did not register as a sex offender in Tennessee.

Police have charged Hann with failing to comply with New York State sex offender registration requirements and for offering a false instrument for filing.

He also faces federal charges, Auburn police said.

The Naked Sex Offender

It's normal to be naked in the shower. It is not normal however to be naked in the shower and then realise that outside of your shower curtain is another naked person who you didn't invite in- especially when it turns out that that naked person is a convicted sexual offender.

Police say the suspect, Christopher Eddy, a.k.a. "Crazy" Eddy, has a long criminal history with convictions for assault, harassment and child rape.

Last Tuesday, the woman, who KING 5 News is not identifying, was taking a shower in her Everett home. Her children were upstairs.

The shower curtain moved like someone had opened the door. When the woman looked, she saw a man standing there, naked from the waist down.

The situation could have goten even worse for the woman when the man forced her out of the bathroom and into another room of the house. Thankfully, she was able to grab her phone and call 911 before getting away from the pervert.

The victim made an excuse to go to another room. The suspect waited behind. When the victim told a 911 dispatcher what was happening, police came running.

"They tackled him in her living room and found his clothes sitting in the bushes," said Moore.

Eddy's last known address was in Marysville. Court records show that in 2004, he was convicted of raping a child, but when he got out of prison, he failed to register as a sex offender. Last January, he was convicted of failing to register and got 90 days in jail, but was let out a month early for good behavior.

"That really makes me scared of what kind of system Washington's running," said Moore.

When pervs move in

Lets face it, few families with children would be happy to know that the home they are considering for purchase has a sex offender living within walking distance of it. Hell... I know people without children that would be weary of buying such a home. Knowing that some demented sexual pervert is right next door isn't the sort of thing that helps turn a 'for sale' sign into a 'sold' sign.. and that's bad for those wishing to sell.

So resident of Southbury Conn... god love them... have decided that since having a perv within their neighborhood makes it harder to dump their homes on someone else, it's sort of like being stuck with a devalued property... and no one likes a devalued property. So, they've come up with a nifty little plan.

Some two dozen homeowners in the Fox Run Drive area believe their property values dropped last fall when David Pollitt moved to his sister's home in their neighborhood.

They tried but can't force Pollitt to move out, so they have asked the town to reduce their property tax assessments by as much as 17 percent.

Honestly, it works for me. Had the system been able to keep him from moving into this community (by means of locking him up for life, or any other possible solution) these poor folks wouldn't be tormented by his presence and the homes would be more attractive to possible buyers... making them more valuable.

Someone hurry and elect to me the board that will be voting on this hot little item... cause I'm ready to sign my name to the 'approved' stamp.

A load of wash, with a sex assault on the side

You know, the headlines fail to surprise me anymore. Honestly... if we plan to continue to allow scum bags out of the prisons, then we must be willing to be prepared for reading cases where the offenders have broken the law again.

A registered sex offender is back behind bars, charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a coin-operated laundry.
more stories like this

Eric Searles, 45, was arrested Saturday night by Loudon police, who stopped him for several traffic violations, police said.

Police had been looking for him since Jan. 4, when a woman reported Searles followed her from a homeless shelter where both had been staying and raped her at the laundry.

Here's an idea- let's not play catch and release with this sick monkey this time... let's just keep him in the cage behind bars where he belongs.

Someone forgot to make a New Years Resolution

Consider this my special New Years post- a quick highlight of just some people who should have made their last years New Years Resolution to try to be anything other than the sick pervs they are. Maybe, with proper jail time- they'll be able to make up for it this time around.

Neil Edwards was recently released from jail, the repeat offender- let loose Sept. 6 of this year after serving a laughable sentence of 7 years clearly didn't learn his lesson.

A child molester recently released from prison was arrested Monday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a mentally retarded man.

Neil Edwards, 66, befriended the man last Friday and brought him to Edwards' Peeples Valley home, where he proceeded to sexually abuse him, Yavapai County sheriff's detectives said.

Next up, and a little more special because this one is from my beloved Ohio, we have William Dexter Saint-John... he wanted to get one of those great carry and conceal deals for guns from Ohio.

According to deputies, William Dexter Saint-John had applied for a concealed weapon carry permit in November.

He was charged with falsification after a background check showed that Saint-John had a long criminal history, including a child molestation conviction in Georgia, where he spent time in prison.

Next meet Anthony Uckele, sick perv and internet predator who sexually abused a 12 year old girl he met online. (Side note- I'm really really losing patience with you people who CONTINUE to allow your kids to go online without supervision. In fact- I'm starting to believe that in cases like these, the parents ought to be charged with endangerment, for not ensuring that they are protecting their children)

Authorities say Uckele, a former West Valley College student, had sex with the girl numerous times in the course of a seven-month relationship, which began in 2005 when Uckele saw her MySpace page and sent her an electronic message. At the time, Uckele was 22 but listed his age on MySpace as 16. The girl was 12 and testified that she listed her age as two or three years older.

But the girl, whose name is being withheld to protect her privacy, testified that both admitted their true ages within a short time after they first met, and before they had sexual intercourse. Defense attorney Richard Pointer has said his client admitted having sex with the girl twice, but suggested that she has exaggerated the number of times.

And last we have Ross M. Wenner. Which the story reports:

Authorities on Tuesday began the long work of clearing up a backlog of charges against Ross M. Wenner, an alleged sexual predator of young girls in four Minnesota counties.

In Dakota County District Court Tuesday, Wenner, 26, pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping, felony harassment and soliciting a 12-year-old girl for sexual activity in Lakeville last summer.

Oh yeah, that's one that will be rotting in hell.

Concluding my quick round up of sick freaks and low life scum- I'd like to take this chance to wish all ya'll a very Happy New Years. May you be blessed a hundred times over, and find happiness, love and peace....

Well, except for those idiot parents who still haven't read enough stories about internet predators to know that they need to get up and MONITOR their children a little better. I'm hoping those dimwits get hit in the head with a 2x4 and awake to a new sense of enlightenment that provokes them to do their damn jobs and protect their children.

Winnipeg, Cleveland, Camden, Melbourne, and Frisco

Betcha you're wondering what all these cities have in common, aren't ya? Well it seems that each of these fine cities share a common goal of wanting to capture one sexual predator or another... so here's the list- maybe you can help them out.

Winnipeg police appealed for the second day in a row today for any information on a man who sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl early Saturday.
The girl was walking alone near Arlington Street and Alexander Avenue at about 1 a.m. when a man driving a car stopped and offered her a ride. The child accepted, and once inside the car was threatened with violence if she did not cooperate, police said.

The man then drove her to a nearby secluded area and raped her. He then drove the girl back near where he had picked her up and let her go.

The suspect is an Asian man in her early 20s with black spiked hair with brown highlights.

Marshals in Cleveland are seeking a sexual offender who failed to register:

U.S. Marshals are looking for Jerry Malone, 63, accused of failing to register his address with a county sheriff's office. He most recently registered in Lucas County, but failed to re-register.

Camden police are seeking a man they believe has attacked 3 girls, in each case the suspect was driving a dark colored minivan.

Police in Camden are warning that there's a sexual predator on the loose who has now struck three times.

The man has attacked girls at 8th and Everett in October, the 1900 block of Mulford in November, and just one week ago on Hayes Avenue near the Camden Promise Charter School.

Officials in Melbourne are searching for an escaped offender who took off while being escorted by two guard to a mental hospital.

A SEX offender who absconded while being returned to a high security mental health hospital in Melbourne is still on the loose, police say.
Sean Broaders, 44, a patient at Thomas Embling Hospital, which caters for mentally ill offenders, was being escorted by two staff members back to the hospital after a medical appointment last Friday when he broke loose and escaped.

Police believe Broaders caught a taxi in O'Keefe Street at Heidelberg Heights and travelled to an address in Harts Parade at Hawthorn East.

And Frisco, well they are searching for Mario Martinez, who is charged with raping a woman in 2001. And, just to spike your interest in helping get this pervert behind bars where he belongs- there is currently a $3000 award out on him.

Frisco is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Mario Martinez.

Police said Martinez and an accomplice kidnapped a woman and raped her in 2001.

"warning you are now approaching a sicko freak"

Okay, so that's not likely to be the actual message- but it's pretty damn close. (Company website)

The personal alert system, called Offender (short for offender radar), would be about the size of a key fob and would vibrate when an offender wearing a monitoring bracelet is within 50 yards.

Supporters say the untested system could be a non-intrusive, real-time way to alert users when an offender is close and let them take steps to protect themselves. But opponents, including a spokeswoman for a rape crisis center, said the device could cause unnecessary panic while not guaranteeing any level of safety.

Someone buy me one, I wanna test it at Toys R Us next time I go. Actually, I'd rather that MY monitor not be the one reacting... a more perfect device would be one that when worn by an offender who comes within 50 feet of me THEIR monitor sends out a LOUD message informing everyone that there is a sick little monkey now within 50 feet of me. That way, it is intrusive, and not only do I get to benefit from my monitor- but others do to.

State Sen. Tim Grendell, a champion of lock-'em-up-and-throw-away-the-key legislation, has invited the Chagrin Falls company behind the technology to demonstrate it today during a Statehouse hearing.

"If there is someone in your area that the state has decided should be wearing an ankle bracelet, you have no idea," said Jerry Pignolet, one of the principals in Offendar LLC. Offendar "is not going to deter him, but it gives you an opportunity to gather your family, get in the car and lock the doors."

But David Singleton, executive director of the Ohio Justice & Policy Center, said the system plays on fears in the community while penalizing people who have already served time in prison for their crimes.

I could care less what Singleton thinks... he's one of those sick freak assholes who believe that society should just allow sex offenders to blend in with the rest of us until they are ready to rape their next victim. He can bite me- cause in a perfect world I'd have a monitor placed on him that has an 'auto inform' message that goes off everytime he opens his shit mouth just to let people know that he's a bit fucked out and should be ignored.

Human Reactions:

Of course he did well... he was locked up

It never fails to amaze me when people sit back and talk about how well an offender did in treatment, how they seemed to make progress, how they appeared to want to change only to later reoffend. I have to laugh at these 'excusers' surprise that a postboy for treatment behaved differently after release.

Let's be honest- you don't have a lot of people offending while participating in treatment while locked up in a jail- not because they are attempting to fix themselves but BECAUSE THEY ARE LOCKED UP!! Honestly- look at it, most potential victims they have the luck to be around are guards with some sort of weapons and their therapist- who they are trying to fool just so they can GET OUT. And yet... we'll always have one person talking about how well the sicko did- while refusing to accept the real reason the offender was behaving well.

Dianne Deminchuk, a nurse with the Correctional Service of Canada, told court she started working with Randy Scott Burgmann at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon in the summer of 1999, and seemed to be making a sincere attempt to work through his issues.

"He was motivated to make changes," she said. "He was motivated to understand why he reoffended."

Deminchuk said that by the time Burgmann applied for day parole early in 2000, she believed his risk was lowered to the point where he could be managed in the community with enough support.

Burgmann's most recent offence occurred early in 2004, when he assaulted a 30-year-old mother of seven inside his room at a Regina halfway house. He was convicted of aggravated assault at a trial in September 2005.

Seriously, they ought to make some sort of IQ requirement for these idiot therapists.

Banned

A lot of things get banned. Once I knew someone who was banned from school. It was sort of funny, after all- to a teenager the entire idea of telling them that they can't go to school, and that being kept from school is a punishment is just, well pretty damn amusing. Just to be honest- if the kid had really wanted to be there, they likely wouldn't have been screwing around enough to get banned in the first place.

The situation, while many times less serious, reminds me of a recent case which, to be honest again is neither funny nor amusing.

Mayor Lino Donato entered the pleas Oct. 31 to three counts of indecency, cutting short a trial on accusations that he exposed himself to two girls between 1996 and 2000 and improperly touched one of them.

Mayor is not a first or middle name in this case, it's a title. As in, this perv is the mayor of a city. And because of the way things sometimes work, despite his plea- he is still mayor. Now, he'll be in office until May 2009. But, because of some dumb ass sentencing deal.. he's not in jail instead he got ""deferred adjudication" of his case, which technically isn't a conviction." Um. Yeah. I won't go there. Just close your eyes and imagine me cussing about that one.

Anyway, perv is still Mayor, and perv is not in jail. So, here's the interesting part, that reminds me of the school banning some idiot student from being there, and then pretending like it's a punishment:

As a registered sex offender, Donato is required to stay more than 1,000 feet from places where children congregate, and the Atascosa Boxing Club and Youth Center is less than that distance from City Hall, City Attorney Frank Garza said. Probation officers checked the distance with a tape measure, officials said.

He can't go near city hall. He's the mayor. He brings home the 'mayor's bacon'... for a job that he can't really go do, because he's a registered sexual offender.

Seriously, so many areas of this case that are just wrong... it's hard to figure out which part to bitch about the most.

I suppose deep inside he knew he wasn't human...

And so he picked a more proper place to rest his head:

A convicted sex offender who disappeared from the state of Florida reappeared today in Goshen. Police said 59-year-old Harold John Hilliard was living in a stall at the Goshen Historic Track.

Hilliard was convicted of unlawful sexual contact in 2001 in Maine and sentenced to 180 days in prison. After that, he moved to Florida where he registered last year as a sex offender. When it came time to re-register this year, according to Florida records, Hilliard was gone.

Of course, an even better place would have been jail... but I suppose that is just asking too much of our judicial system.

Walks on the beach

It's completely normal to see most members of the animal kingdom frolicking in the buff, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the ocean breeze while on the beach. Some animals even take to keeping young close to them while walking along. And that too, in the animal kingdom is normal.

What's not so normal (or healthy, or pleasant to see) is a registered sexual offender walking along the beach in the buff, with child in tow. Clearly, someone must have forgotten to inform Hubert Haraszewski, a 31-year-old registered sex offender from Cali of this- as he was recently arrested after doing just that on a California beach.

What led officials to Haraszewski was a 911 call reporting that a man was walking naked on the San Onofre State Beach north of Oceanside with a child, deputies said.

Rangers stopped the man, who told them he was the child's uncle, officials said. Child abuse detectives determined he had repeatedly molested the child, whose age and gender were not disclosed, officials said.

Ohio Senate Bill 10

The following is an invitation to a rally. The following links will take you to a website that is holding a counter rally, for those who support SB 10.
www.waspohio.org www.myspace.com/waspsnest
The rally is being formed in order to counter a rally being held by sexual offenders in Ohio who are fighting against Ohio Bill 10, which will make significant changes to the SOR laws,

For a shortened list of the changes, please see this page - http://www.lbo.state.oh.us/fiscal/fiscalnotes/127ga/SB0010HR.htm

As mentioned this rally is being held to counter a rally by sexual offenders which is being planned to demonstrate against Senate Bill 10. And, as those who know me know- I personally believe that due to their crimes- they are entitled to lose a bit of their freedoms, in order to ensure that our families and friends aren't losing theirs. It is important that if you are able to attend, you plan on doing so. If you are not, please consider sharing this with your family, friends and co workers. It's time that those of us in the position to, take a stand for victims, and demand that our leaders not only follow through on this, but continue to make improvements in the future.

The "Silent No More" rally information included in the following email is being sent all over the US, and posted on many websites, in hopes that sexual offenders, and their families will rally against the Bill- making a strong enough impact to prevent these measures from going through. This would be the rally that we hope to counter with our own supporters of the Bill.

If you are not able to attend, but would like further information or would like to contact your representatives to show your support for this Bill, please feel free to contact me, and I'll answer any questions you might have.

My fellow American Citizens:

Over the past few years, Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs) have had more and more of their basic human rights and freedoms taken from them. It doesn't appear that this process will stop any time soon. Recently, Ohio passed Senate Bill 10. If you haven't yet received your notification from Attorney General Mark Dann's office indicating your "tier" level, it's on its way. If you are at present classified as a low-level sex offender in Ohio, your new level under Senate Bill 10 could put you at a higher risk level, up to and including "Predator" or Level 3. This bill is going to seriously and negatively affect many Registered Sex Offenders and their families. Some RSOs, including people with a year or less left on their sentences, will have their registration requirements extended by this bill. For others, lifetime registration will become a reality. On December 1, 2007, Soclear Media Productions will sponsor an educational forum at the Statehouse in Columbus, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Registered Sex Offenders and their families are urged to attend this peaceful assembly. We want to show our legislators that we strongly support the rehabilitation of RSOs, and their reintegration into society as law-abiding, contributing members. Plan to attend and spend the day with us, as we endeavor to educate the public by replacing myth and gossip with truth and fact. This is our opportunity to show legislators and the public-at-large that constitutional protections and laws must apply equally to everyone. Fair and just legislation will do far more to ensure the safety of our country's children than this overly broad and repressive law. For more information about the rally, please contact:
