If Jack Deloy Edwards lives to be 110

If Jack Deloy Edwards can make it to 110, the now 70 year old pedophile just might be able to hang in there and serve his entire sentence of 40 years. I won't be holding my breath- but am at least happy to know that it's unlikely he'll ever walk on this side of the prison gate again.

Jack Deloy Edwards, 70, of the 7000 block of Fayetteville Road, pleaded guilty in a Moore County Court to two counts of statutory sexual offense, two counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and 99 counts each of second and third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, said Hoke County Assistant District Attorney Mike Hardin.

Edwards was arrested in September after the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office found several photos and digital video of child pornography in his home. The pictures showed two girls, ages 7 and 12, being molested in a Cameron-area home in July 2006, Hardin said.

The photos were discovered by a friend of Edwards who had been visiting him. After the discovery the friend informed police who then took the photos into evidence.

Edwards still faces a court date over crimes from 1994. In that case he's charged with statutory sexual offenses, indecent liberties with a minor and sexual activities with a minor.

US Marshals arrest rapist

A New York state sexual offender has been arrested after LE said he provided false documents on his living arrangements and left the state to live with family members in Tennessee.

Lawrence E. Hann, 35, formerly of 117 Janet St., was arrested Thursday in Tennessee, by the United States Marshals Service after an investigation initiated by the Auburn Police Department's Sex Offender Management Unit.

[...]

Auburn police said Hann falsified a change of address form in January and subsequently moved to Tennessee to live with family members. Police said he did not register as a sex offender in Tennessee.

Police have charged Hann with failing to comply with New York State sex offender registration requirements and for offering a false instrument for filing.

He also faces federal charges, Auburn police said.

Byron James Simmons

Byron James Simmons was recently released from prison after serving time for a conviction in 2003 of attempted lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim between 12 and 15 years old, and the sale and possession of cocaine. He'd been sentenced to five years, received some credit for time served and walked out of prison in November of 2007. But his history of run ins with the law didn't start then.

In 1996, Simmons was sentenced to two years probation for carrying a concealed weapon and having a firearm at school. Hillsborough Circuit Court records show he violated that probation and was sentenced to 270 days in jail. Later convictions include assault, possession of cannabis, trespassing and battery.

Simmons must have missed prison, because he wasted no time in returning to his criminal behaviors of the past. This time, it appears that he stuck with sex crimes, as police have arrested him in connection to the rape of a 10 year old relative.

Tampa police say Byron James Simmons, 29, picked up a 10-year-old relative from her home at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. A report says he drove her to Copeland Park on N 15th Street, locked the doors to his van and raped her. He made her promise not to tell anyone. He threatened to hurt her if she did.

Simmons was arrested at 3:47 a.m. Sunday at a North Tampa apartment complex and charged with sexual battery on a child younger than 12, a capital felony. The alleged rape occurred exactly six months after Simmons was released from state prison for a sex offense.

Simmons is currently being held without bail, and faces a possible life sentence if convicted of the charges.

Rapist found dead

Convicted rapist Bryan E. Halstead was arrested after police say he attempted to lure a teenage girl into meeting him for sex.

Naperville police arrested Halstead on Tuesday afternoon, and he was taken to Stateville on Tuesday night for violating the terms of his parole. Police said Halstead had come to Naperville to meet a 16-year-old girl with whom he had been corresponding on MySpace.com.

Halstead was paroled from prison in December after serving roughly half of a 45-year prison sentence he received in 1986 for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl and for shooting her father. The shooting victim survived the attack.

Honestly, he should have never been free to begin with.

Halstead will not be facing any more prison time for this latest crime. Nor will he be released into the public. Instead of facing justice for his crimes, he opted to hang himself in his jail cell.

Illinois Department of Corrections spokesman Derek Schnapp said the body of Bryan E. Halstead, 44, of Chicago Heights was discovered Wednesday morning in a cell at Stateville Correctional Center near Joliet. The death is being investigated as a suicide, Schnapp said.

The Naked Sex Offender

It's normal to be naked in the shower. It is not normal however to be naked in the shower and then realise that outside of your shower curtain is another naked person who you didn't invite in- especially when it turns out that that naked person is a convicted sexual offender.

Police say the suspect, Christopher Eddy, a.k.a. "Crazy" Eddy, has a long criminal history with convictions for assault, harassment and child rape.

Last Tuesday, the woman, who KING 5 News is not identifying, was taking a shower in her Everett home. Her children were upstairs.

The shower curtain moved like someone had opened the door. When the woman looked, she saw a man standing there, naked from the waist down.

The situation could have goten even worse for the woman when the man forced her out of the bathroom and into another room of the house. Thankfully, she was able to grab her phone and call 911 before getting away from the pervert.

The victim made an excuse to go to another room. The suspect waited behind. When the victim told a 911 dispatcher what was happening, police came running.

"They tackled him in her living room and found his clothes sitting in the bushes," said Moore.

Eddy's last known address was in Marysville. Court records show that in 2004, he was convicted of raping a child, but when he got out of prison, he failed to register as a sex offender. Last January, he was convicted of failing to register and got 90 days in jail, but was let out a month early for good behavior.

"That really makes me scared of what kind of system Washington's running," said Moore.

Brian Anthony Reavis

Brian Anthony Reavis might just be one of the most 'deserving death penalty' creeps I've read about.

Police say that Reavis, 41 attacked a 95 year old woman while she was sitting on the front porch of her home. At first, he only pushed his way into her home and demanded money. But once inside, after the victim gave him $20 he decided to force her upstairs.

Then the man forced her upstairs to get her purse, raped her and beat her, severely injuring her eye.

Neighbors rallied to help the woman after the attack. They distributed hundreds of posters offering a money reward with a police sketch of the suspect.

95 years old, and should be enjoying life- but instead having to experience the acts of this deviant predator.

Signs I need a vacation...

I read the headline in COMPLETE shock. I mean, I'd just seen Seal and his lovely little wife on Oprah... and they were so happy, and so normal- well normal if you're a rich Hollywood superstar with the world laid at your feet. But still, Seal didn't come off seeming like someone who would be so so, low.

But there it was, the headline that said it all: "Sexual predator: Seal's sex attack on penguin". I was almost too disgusted to even click the link. I mean, I've read some pretty bad 'human to animal' sex crime cases... but SEAL? OMFG.

Thankfully, I managed to click the link, and that's when it hit me... perhaps I've been covering sex crimes for too damn long.

The Antarctic fur seal was observed by South African scientists attempting to have sex with the king penguin on Marion Island, in the sub-Antarctic region. The incident was recorded in the Journal of Ethology.

The effort lasted forty-five fruitless minutes, according to the BBC.

A seal. Not Seal. Not the Seal, the Seal who's a famous singer guy married to a woman with kids and a life. Not the human superstar Seal. But a seal. A mammal, a wild animal.

Geez. I need a vacation.
