Aaron Nichols caught himself a sweet deal pretty much rewarding him for sexually abusing two children- an 11 year old six years ago, and a 7 year old five years ago. Rather than going to jail for any length of time, the sexual deviant will be spending a few years on parole and be required to register as a sexual offender. Lucky him, but rather dangerous for the rest of the children he's likely to come into contact with at some point in the future.
Nichols pleaded guilty as part of an agreement. Prosecutors are recommending Nichols serve 12 years on probation and register as a sex offender. He faces sentencing on August 13th.Nothing like having a prosecutor working for the defense team huh?Honestly, what makes me wonder a little more about this case isn't really the 'news reporting' portion of the article, but the follow up comments to it.In fairness, comments aren't promises that the information provided is actually true- but never the less, they do make you wonder if there's a little intergoverment back scratching going on somewhere, given the light sentence recommendation and his father's alleged position in the county.
The truth is that one brave child TOLD on him for forcing him to take his penis in his mouth and had for a long time in '04. At this time CPS became involved and Aaron told his Dad, the Tipton Co. Coroner, that he had molested many other children as well and his father, Bob Nichols, told him to keep his mouth shut about the other victims! For two more years Bob sat back and allowed Aaron to carry on and be around little kids all the time in their homeschool group, Boy Scouts, church, 4-H, etc.... After the child told on him in '04 he entered counciling and eventually the counselor told him he had to disclose all his victims and when he finally did, the counselor told him he had 48 hrs to turn himself in, or he would.However, I have to admit that another comment holds a perfect ring of truth to it, and is something that all of us should remember.

If you only knew the depths of the corruption in this story! It is worse than you can imagine! People should be outraged what a name and money and connections can do for you in a small town. There's not enough time to tell it all.
It is a wonder there isn't more vigilante justice in this country. I applaud the detectives that work hard on putting cases like this together, only to see the judicial system tear their work apart. Our system gives 99% of the rights to the criminal and only 1% to the victims. Articles like this just doesn't give the whole picture, many children were molested by this pervert.
Ummmmmmmmm......I don't think victims even get the 1% you say they get. They just get to be victimized again and again by the system, while the perps have all the rights.
Tipton is one corrupt little town and I hope this story breaks wide open and all is revealed.
Does anyone get it? This perp is a repeater! The first time resulted in some counseling. Kept out of courts, etc. No one knew! His parents continued to have him around families with small children! Then 2 years later, he finally admits to more...but daddy won't let him tell of the others! The others...there are more!!!!
Your perception is WRONG. The cases reported in 2006 happened before 2004 - they were just not reported. Read the legal papers.

Someone posted a comment to try to deflect the attention from this case and this molester to someone else. Typical childish act. Typical of someone who is immature and tries to find someone else to blame for their problems. Typical of one who can't face accountability.

I'm so glad to see this all over the web, on forums, and the like. PLEASE, People, write to the Judge and Prosecutor. I have supported these families from the beginning. Your voices are important! The more letters piled on the Judge's desk will speak volumes! This is an outrage...the kids deserve some justice...and so does Aaron's soul. A slap on the wrist isn't doing him any good. Being held accountable & responsible by a punishment that fits the crimes will. PRAY FOR JUSTICE!
Whoever said Tipton is a corrupt little town sure is right. The things that have happened in this town and no one held accountable is terrible. It's like Satan himself has taken over, and we are trying to fight him. BUT remember who wins!
It is beyond my comprehension how someone like Aaron Nichols could get off without no bail in Tipton, yet others who have done MUCH MUCH less have had to post bail and spend more time behind bars then Aaron Nichols may ever have too for molesting children.

Because it shows that at least one parent is transferring her anger from what happened to her daughter with a different boy to what happened to her son in this case. It does matter.
Your theory is interesting, and makes me wonder...you don't think that ANY and ALL parents should be outraged because of this case alone?
As a parent....Believe me, I am outraged because of what this pervert did to these children. I am outraged because of what the prosecutor was willing to accept! I am outraged that this molester is NOT getting prison time! I am outraged that this molester's father did NOTHING to warn parents! I am outraged that what this father did was to hurt his son even more!
The anger I feel has nothing to do with anything more than what this is. I don't have a daughter who was affected from another case or situation. I don't know Aaron Nichols or his family. As an advocate for children everywhere, I am totally outraged, and I don't need another situation to fuel that!

I have no children that were involved with Aaron Nichols either, yet believe he should have to do time just like anyone else.

WOW!! Let me start by saying that I do not know the people involved with this case--but it sure does make me SICK! My daughter at 4 was sexually assaulted by a 16-year-old boy. My daughter was the only victim (I suspect there were more considering his parents ran a daycare). The prosecuter in my case also cried for outpatient treatment with the plea deal. Luckily the judge saw it to be more and he spent ONE year in juvi and is now out living free. What my daughter went through and still goes through is something I really can't explain--but his ONE year sure doesn't compare to our life sentence. Just like in this case the boys parents lied (and still do) to protect their sick son. I feel for all of the victims in this case and if the judge lets him off, for the future victims to. The laws need to be changed so as the PARENTS who lie, hide, and basically allow their children to do this, they should serve jail time to. ANYTHING I can do to help put this sicko behind bars I will do!!!! This guy should be in jail for A LONG TIME.
